1. What made you decide to become a therapist?
To be human is that we all experience brokenness. We are all wired for connection and relationship yet many of us feel disconnected from others. I am passionate about helping individuals on their journey of self-discovery. I also love helping couples reconnect with one another. I find tremendous beauty in therapy and have been honoured to witness tremendous strength and resilience in my clients.
2. What do you love most about working at Shift?
It can feel quite isolating being a therapist and an entrepreneur at the same time. It is really invaluable to have a team of gifted therapists to support each other in our professional goals and in meeting different needs of the clients. I also love the cozy space and chic furniture décor.
3. When you're not at work, what fills your time?
Nature is my biggest passion and it helps me feel grounded and rejuvenated. I love being active outdoors: hiking, biking, canoeing, etc. I also travel quite extensively. My next adventure will be a 3-week overland safari trip in Africa.
4. Do you have a favourite quote or mantra?
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
5. Whats one therapy technique you use most often yourself?
In my relationship, I often remind myself to connect with my own emotions and communicate my needs to my partner in a vulnerable way that brings closeness and intimacy in our relationship.
