Carolyn helps adult women navigate challenges in their careers and relationships. As a former teacher of almost twenty years, her lived experience with professional and personal challenges informs her work as a therapist. Carolyn will work with you to reaffirm your strengths and resiliencies, learn to set healthier boundaries and grow your confidence. At the heart of her work, Carolyn highlights the importance of client self-care and empowers you to make yourself a priority.

Carolyn understands the importance of connection. She’ll ensure you feel safe and supported in sessions. Her warm, compassionate, and understanding approach will help you feel comfortable as you begin your therapy journey. Carolyn welcomes humour in sessions, as she considers it a vital part of the human emotional experience. Carolyn believes you are the expert when it comes to your therapy journey—you may just need a shift in perspective to initiate positive change.

Outside of sessions, Carolyn is a sports enthusiast who particularly enjoys soccer. As a lifelong lover of the game, she now cheers on the littles in her life as they get involved in the sport. When she’s not on the field, you can find her on (or near) the water at home or when travelling. While she’s no Marie Kondo, Carolyn enjoys finding new ways to add beauty and organization to her home. She also loves a good life hack!

Q&A

What do you do to take care of your own mental health?
To take care of my own mental health, I find quiet moments in my day when I practice gratitude. It’s important for me to get moving and be active – ideally outside. I surround myself with good people. I practice good sleep hygiene to try to get quality sleep on a regular basis.
What does good mental health look like to you?
Good mental health, like good physical health, means staying active – and in this case, it means taking time to invest in yourself mentally. It means checking in with yourself, finding healthy ways to cope with stress, making and maintaining positive connections with others, and finding ways to be grateful.
How do you describe therapy?
I would describe therapy as an experience that involves meaningful connection between a client and therapist where, as a team, they are committed to the client’s well-being, with a focus on facing and meeting challenges, rediscovery and growth.
