A fully funded mental health program providing grief group therapy for up to 10 women across Ontario (that means costs are fully covered—all you have to do is show up).
Grief doesn't move in a straight line. Some weeks it's a whisper, some weeks it's the loudest thing in the room. That’s why Shift Collab and the Good Grief Gala are bringing back The Good Grief Initiative for a second year, a fully funded group therapy program supporting up to 10 people across Ontario who identify as women who are navigating grief and loss. This group is open to all women, including transgender and gender-diverse women.
Funded through proceeds from the Good Grief Gala, the initiative runs from mid-September to November and offers compassionate, structured support during this tender time. Participants will receive up to eight group therapy sessions with Shift Collab therapist Stephanie Gorrill, RP, to foster connection and shared healing within a supportive community.
All sessions are delivered virtually through Shift Collab’s secure platform, making care accessible no matter where you are in Ontario.

We’re so glad you’re interested in The Good Grief Initiative. All group therapy sessions will be fully covered — no fees, no catch, just care. Here’s what you need to know before applying:
Applications open on July 20th, 2026, and close at 11:59 PM ET on Thursday, August 20th, 2026.
You live in Ontario, Canada and will be physically located in Ontario for all sessions.
You have access to a stable, private internet connection and can attend all sessions, held virtually on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM ET, starting September 15, 2026.
You identify as a woman (open to all women, including transgender and gender-diverse women).
You have experienced a significant loss (for example: the death of a loved one, miscarriage or pregnancy loss, separation or divorce, the end of a meaningful relationship or friendship, a major life transition, or another kind of identity or role loss).
You don't need any history with Shift Collab, new faces and current clients are both welcome.
You are 18 years of age or older.
Stephanie is here to support you in your high-stress career, navigate grief and loss, or heal from trauma with engaging, empathetic therapy tailored to you.
Grief comes in many forms. We are here to help you navigate the emotional, physical, and relational impact of loss with compassion and expertise.
We couldn't run this program without the Good Grief Gala. Save the date for October 25th, 2026, as we'd love for you to join us and come together to honour loved ones, build community, and help fund life-changing therapy for women and families experiencing child loss.
Every ticket, sponsorship, and donation goes toward turning grief into hope.
