Becoming a parent changes you, and not always in the ways you expected or were told to expect. Somewhere between the demands of raising children and the effort of keeping everything together, you might notice that the parts of yourself that used to feel solid have gotten harder to locate. Who you are apart from your role as a parent can start to feel like a question without a clear answer.
In therapy, this doesn't need to be treated as a problem to solve so much as something to explore honestly. You might talk about what you've put on hold, what you've outgrown, and what still feels genuinely yours even now. A therapist can help you think through how your values, relationships, and sense of purpose have shifted with parenthood, and what it looks like to keep growing as a person while also showing up for your kids. Both things can be true at once.
