Oppression or Marginalization

Living with the ongoing weight of racism, sexism, ableism, economic inequality, or other forms of marginalization takes a real toll. The exhaustion is not abstract. When the systems and environments you move through consistently deny you equal standing, the effects show up in your mental health, your relationships, and your sense of possibility, often in ways that are hard to name because they're so constant.

Therapy can be a space where your experiences are taken seriously and not explained away. The work might involve processing feelings of frustration, isolation, or hopelessness that have built up over time, building strategies for self-advocacy in situations that feel hostile, and strengthening the kind of resilience that comes from being genuinely understood. The focus is on what you're actually living through, and what might make it more bearable, not on being told to simply cope better.
