Postpartum Depression (PPD)

Postpartum depression goes beyond the "baby blues" that many new parents experience in the first week or two. It can show up as persistent sadness, anxiety, numbness, difficulty bonding with your baby, or a consuming sense of guilt and inadequacy, and it does not resolve on its own the way ordinary adjustment does. Recognizing it as a real and common condition, not a reflection of your worth as a parent, matters a great deal.

Support focuses on helping you process what you are feeling without judgment and develop practical ways to manage your symptoms. Sessions might include working through intrusive or distressing thoughts, building routines that protect your sleep and self-care, finding language for what you need from the people around you, and using mindfulness practices to reduce the intensity of what you are carrying while the longer work continues.
