Support for Non-Birthing Partners

The perinatal period can be an intense time for non-birthing partners in ways that often go unacknowledged. You may be managing your own fears and emotions about the pregnancy or birth while also doing everything you can to support your partner. It can feel like there isn't room for your experience, or like your feelings carry less weight because someone else is going through the physical reality of it.

Therapy for non-birthing partners creates space specifically for what you're going through during this period. That might mean processing fears about birth or parenthood, working through the adjustment to a changing relationship, or naming and sitting with anxiety, grief, or disconnection that you haven't had room to address. Supporting someone else well usually requires that you have some support too, and you don't have to wait until things feel critical to reach out.
