The end of a relationship, or a major shift within one, can knock you off your footing in ways that are hard to anticipate. Even when the decision was the right one, grief moves in anyway. There's often sadness mixed with relief, anger mixed with love, or a strange disorientation about who you are without this person or this chapter of your life.
Therapy during this time is about giving you somewhere to process what's actually happening, not what you think you should be feeling. That might involve working through the specific circumstances of the relationship ending, untangling patterns you've noticed across relationships, or finding your way through the identity questions that surface when a significant part of your life changes shape. There's no timeline you're supposed to be on.
