Compassion-Focused Therapy

Compassion-Focused Therapy helps you build a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself, especially if you're stuck in self-criticism, shame, or feeling like you're never doing enough. It draws on ideas from evolutionary psychology and neuroscience, using imagery and soothing techniques to help your nervous system feel safe enough for compassion to actually land, rather than staying an idea you know but can't feel.

Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) uses compassion-based exercises to help you reduce self-criticism and shame and build a calmer, more supportive relationship with yourself.

WHAT IT TREATS / WHO IT'S FOR

CFT is often used for shame, self-criticism, and low self-esteem, and can support people managing anxiety, depression, or the effects of childhood experiences where they didn't feel safe or cared for. At Shift Collab, sessions happen virtually over video (or phone when needed), so the imagery and grounding exercises CFT uses are guided live with your therapist rather than left for you to figure out alone.
