Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy works with the connection between your mind and body, on the idea that stress and trauma can get stored physically, not just held as memories or thoughts. Your therapist guides body-based techniques, like breathing, grounding, or gentle movement, to help release that tension and build a stronger sense of safety in your body.

Somatic therapy works with the mind-body connection, using body-based techniques like breathing, grounding, and movement to help release stress and trauma held in the body.

WHAT IT TREATS / WHO IT'S FOR

It's often used for trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and physical symptoms with no clear medical cause, and can help if you feel disconnected from your body or notice it holding tension you can't talk your way out of. Somatic work translates well to video: your therapist can still observe your posture, breathing, and movement on camera and talk you through exercises in real time.
