Our 4 Year Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Shift

Today is Shift’s fourth anniversary.

As I write this, I am full of gratitude for the past four years, especially the people that have shared in our growth and helped to build this incredible community we call Shift Collab. Shift wouldn’t be what it is today without your hard work, dedication, and trust. Thank you.

I spent some time this morning reminiscing about the early days when we were just starting out. From planning the clinic space to hiring the very first members of our clinical team and learning the ropes of running a company (and wow, was that a learning curve!). It was certainly not always easy back then, but I can’t help feeling a special fondness when I think back to that time and all that I’ve gained from those early days. I must admit, the past four years of my life feels like the longest/shortest time and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

When I started Shift Collab, I was naive to how challenging it is to market private practice but so grateful to those who trusted me to support their work as clinicians and grow their caseloads. I was, and still am, thankful to each and every single client who came through the door during those early days trusting Shift with their mental health care. Your trust and willingness to try something new shaped Shift into what it is today.

Though I initially started the company alone, I soon realized that I wanted (and needed) to share the journey of entrepreneurship with someone else. Luckily for me, along came Jordan, with a drive for impact in the mental health space and a desire to work toward a broader vision of what the future of mental health could be. He was also fun to work with, a super marketer, and knowledgeable about hosting a podcast (cue: Impostercast). And so became Shift Collab.

When I describe Shift to others, I often make it clear that this company has always been more than it’s co-founders. It’s the people who show up every day to do the work. It’s our team of therapists who are so invested in our clients’ wellness, it’s our leadership team who are so committed to ensuring Shift is stable and thriving for years to come. It’s our care coordinators who dedicate themselves to helping clients navigate the complexities of the mental health care system. And– perhaps most of all– it’s our clients, without whom there would be no Shift.

There are not enough words to express how grateful I feel each day that I get to work with such an amazing team. Our community has shaped me into the person I am today (really, it has!). A big thank you also goes to our partners who work with us to offer mental health care nationally and to a wider audience. It’s been a privilege to witness and share your commitment to mental health care and trust in Shift to support your programs and teams.

As a final word, thank you for your support over the past four years. I hope we have made you proud, helped you feel supported, pushed you to grow and allowed you space to be you. When it comes down to it, that’s what success means in my books. While I can’t predict the future, I could only be so lucky if it’s anything similar to the past four years.
